Marika Guesthouse welcomed its first guests in the spring of 1997. Over the nearly quarter of a century since then, it has been operating continuously in Tokaj, the namesake town of the Tokaj wine region. The guesthouse offers three double rooms and one family studio for four people, all equipped to modern standards with a private bathroom (shower), TV, refrigerator, and air conditioning. In the enclosed courtyard, a playground awaits children. The Tokaj “Szerelmi” (Love) Cellar Row is just a few minutes’ walk away, located at the foot of the hill opposite the railway, created in honor of the Hungarian Conquest. Since 2002, the Tokaj Wine Region has been a UNESCO World Heritage site. This is where the Bodrog River flows into the Tisza, and the area between the two rivers is one of the most untouched natural habitats in Hungary from both botanical and zoological perspectives. It is also a popular destination for lovers of water sports. It is well worth visiting for those interested in gastronomy and wine tourism as well.
