The film complex, known colloquially as Etyekwood, is located in Etyek, Fejér County. It has six studios and a modern, interactive visitor centre. The Hungarian Hollywood is famous for having one of the biggest New York street sets in the world. A host of Hungarian and foreign films have been filmed there. The first film to be shot at the studio was Guillermo del Toro’s comic book adaptation, Hellboy II: The Golden Army.

From Dune to Üvegtigris

You can go on exciting guided tours that take you through different period sets, and you can also walk on stages that Nicolas Cage, Jeremy Irons, Will Smith, Timothée Chalamet and Matt Damon have worked on. The Martian, three seasons of The Borgias and some scenes from Gemini Man and Dune were shot at the studio. The iconic caravan from the hit Hungarian movie Üvegtigris is kept here, and visitors can see it at any time. The Etyek Filmpark plays a major role in creating visuals not only for films and TV shows, but also for video games.

What we see on screen and what it looks like in reality

When you’re walking around the period scenery, you might feel like you are entering a magical world where everything is just an appearance. In addition to showing how various Hungarian and international blockbuster productions are made, through interactive games the visitor centre also provides an insight into the mysteries of filmmaking and what the film industry and the crew members really do. The two-and-a-half-hour guided tour takes you through the most important phases of filmmaking, and you can see up close how a production goes from a script to people's living rooms.

Summer camp for movie lovers

The aim of these events is to bring cinemagoers closer to the production process, to the diversity of the profession, and to introduce the practical aspects of the filmmaking process. In addition to the guided tours, five-day summer camps are also organised for children between the ages of 9 and 14, where they can learn about the filmmaking experience in a playful way.

You can be a movie star too

Etyek has plenty to keep adults interested as well: you can shoot your own film or try out your dubbing skills. It is a unique experience to stand in front of the cameras and be the star of your own film. Professional make-up artists will also show you the tricks of the trade, specifically how wounds, cuts and scars are put on actors. If you’re looking for something a bit more high octane, you can watch how action movie stunts are executed. Everything is available to visitors, from shows lasting just a few minutes to complex one-hour productions. As you can see, visiting the Korda Filmpark is an unforgettable experience for kids and adults alike, and it’s also a great chance to enjoy yourself and switch off. Whether you come here with your family or for team-building event, you can become a medieval knight, a fairy princess or a superhero in the blink of an eye.
