The flat track, easy to complete even at a slow pace, is the country’s longest cycle route and the EuroVelo 11 international cycle route network also passes through the region. What’s more, you will have a fascinating view throughout your bike ride. Spend some time at the Fish Stairs of Kisköre during your tour. Here, you can observe the movements of migratory fish through viewing windows, while the sound of the trickling water helps leave the greyness of everyday life completely behind. Get the whole family to go cycling: you can even shorten the route around Poroszló and Tiszafüred. In the summer, take a dip at one of the popular local beaches. One example is in Sarud, home to Central Europe’s largest Aquaglide Water Playground and the largest open air Trampoline Park in Hungary, which children are sure to love. Here, you can even hop onto a horse, thanks to the local Riding Centre. The charming little villages of the area are known for their hospitality, so sample some local culinary specialities at one of the many eateries.
Don’t fret if you don’t have a bike, as they are available to rent for the whole family at the Lake Tisza Cycling Centre in Tiszafüred. In fact, if you get tired midway, they’ll even help you get back home.
