From the 29th to the 31st of October 2021, all eyes will once again be on Békéscsaba for the 25th annual Csabai Sausage Festival! This sausage is the traditional produce of the county seat of Alföld (The Great Plain), and the festival is an annual celebration both of the sausage preparation and of the preceding ceremonial pig slaughter.
In view of the current epidemiological situation, this year’s traditional sausage festival will have a slightly different format, but the organizers have been careful to preserve its essence. Visitors will still be welcomed with exhibitions of sausage filling and the preparation of stuffed cabbage, as well as a craft fair, and while judging of the sausages themselves won’t take place, participating teams can still compete for prizes including best costume and best sausage-making method!
