In the last few years, BCEFW has become one of the major fashion events in the Central European region and the number-one meeting point between the professional audience, buyers, designers and the media.
More than 20 brands will unveil their newest collections between the 22nd and the 28th of January 2024 based on the professional principles introduced in the previous season, the criteria system created by the Advisory Board. BCEFW offers a debuting possibility not only for domestic designers but regional brands as well; thus, the audience can discover regional creators’ works on the fashion week’s runways. The central event enhanced by the presence of regional brands creates an opportunity to increase creative industry exports, debuting is also a springboard for the brands to international markets.
The catwalk shows and collective shows will be held in the imposing Baroque Hall of the Museum of Fine Arts. The event offers a possibility for emerging fashion designers to introduce themselves to a broad audience; the New Generation collective show puts talented designers in the spotlight.
The BCEFW Fashion Hub opened its gates for the first time in the previous season, and the tradition will continue this year: free professional presentations, workshops, and roundtable discussions will await visitors in the building of Hungarian Art and Business on Andrássy Avenue. The Fashion Hub programmes focus mainly on engaging Gen Z in line with the aim to present the behind-the-scenes of the creative industry and the world of fashion to young people as closely as possible.
The choice of the venue is highly beneficial from the perspective of building the city’s image since those interested will visit one of the most important touristic centres of the capital when they pay a visit to the Museum of Fine Arts, the City Park, Heroes’ Square and the HAB building on Andrássy Avenue.
The event’s theme will be diversified by side events, allowing a peek into the fashion industry through varied and exciting programmes. The programmes realised by collaboration partners will also emphasise inspiring young people towards fashion.
In addition to being one of the most important regional fashion industry events, the BCEFW AW24 showcases an exciting meeting between past and future inspiration. The BCEFW’s venues reflect the parallel between value preservation and modernity: the Museum of Fine Arts carries the message of artistic heritage and the Fashion Hub puts the new generation in the centre.
