The CineFest Miskolc International Film Festival, Hungary’s most well-known and popular film festival, is to be held between the 10th and 18th of September 2021 with a competition lineup made up entirely of Hungarian premieres.
Films will compete in the following categories: feature, short feature, documentary (CineDocs) and CineNewWave – a category for young Hungarian filmmakers. During the Festival more than one hundred films will make their Hungarian debuts, among them the newest and hottest hits of Cannes and Berlin.
Besides the screenings, several joint programs are also on offer for film professionals, including meetings held by Hungarian and international film organizations, Q&A sessions accompanying the films, and master classes to reveal some select trade secrets to audiences. The festival has four main venues that will host the screenings, but open-air screenings and musical events also await visitors in the downtown area of Miskolc.
