With more than 250 different beers, craft specialties and Food Trucks, the 10th Downtown Beer Festival will welcome visitors to Budapest’s Szabadság Square from September 1 to 6, 2026, with live music and entertainment also on offer.

Hungary’s largest beer festival returns for its tenth edition this year, bringing together the very best of the country’s beer culture in the heart of the capital. The six-day event, which is free to attend, aims to showcase the diversity of both the Hungarian and international beer scene on a single platform, ranging from premium beers produced by major breweries to creations from the smallest craft breweries, as well as exclusive beer premieres.

Set against the fairy-light-adorned surroundings of Szabadság Square, visitors can enjoy a wide selection of street food, evening music programmes and DJ sets, all accompanied by a unique late-summer festival atmosphere. Entry to the festival is free; however, to take part in the tastings, visitors will need to purchase the event’s signature reusable glass on site.
