A brand new, multifunctional, 20,000-seater arena has been built in Budapest for the start of the European Championship, and here the Hungarian national team will play its group phase matches (against the Netherlands, Portugal, and Iceland). The arena will also host half of the main round matches, as well as the final weekend of the tournament, including the final on the 30th of January.
A new arena has also been built in Szeged, in which the group stages will see battles between Serbia, Ukraine, Olympic champions France, and European Championship silver medalists Croatia. In Debrecen, the Főnix Arena has been fully renovated for the start of the European Championship, with the group stages featuring matches between Denmark, Slovenia, North Macedonia, and Montenegro.
Alongside these exciting matches, the European Championship also provides spectators with a wonderful opportunity to explore the three Hungarian host cities, Budapest, Debrecen, and Szeged – don’t miss out!
