Kocsonya Festival

The 26th Miskolc Kocsonya Festival takes place from 6–8 February 2026, offering free concerts, street events and unique winter gastronomy in Hungary. The festival kicks off on Friday afternoon with a colourful carnival parade featuring frog-costumed participants, stilt walkers and lively street performances across the city centre.

Over three days, nearly 100 concerts and all-day programs take place on multiple stages, creating a vibrant festival atmosphere from morning until late night.

During the festival, Miskolc turns into a walkable gastro map: the iconic local kocsonya dish can be tasted not only at street stalls, but also in many city restaurants. Alongside the traditional version, visitors can try creative flavours such as ginger, salmon or even vegan jelly, making the festival appealing for international food lovers as well. The list of the participated restaurants is here: https://www.kocsonyautlevel.hu/kocsonya

Beyond the festival, nearby attractions like Lillafüred and the Bükk Mountains offer scenic winter experiences, making Miskolc an ideal destination for a long winter weekend.
