Pantera is regarded as one of the greatest metal bands of all time. The uncompromising quartet of singer Philip Anselmo, guitarist Dimebag Darrell, his brother, drummer Vinnie Paul, and bassist Rex Brown quickly rose to massive global success in the 1990s with multiple gold and platinum albums, sold out tours, ferocious live performances, and four Grammy® nominations. To this day, their metal masterpieces are cornerstones of heavy music, including “Cowboys From Hell”, “Vulgar Display Of Power”, and the Billboard #1 album Far Beyond Driven.
Even after the tragic deaths of the Darrell brothers, the Texas band continues to inspire multitudes of fellow musicians and garner millions of devoted fans worldwide.
Arguably one of the most anticipated in metal history, the much talked about Pantera reunion officially happened in 2022. Pantera members Phil Anselmo (vocals) and Rex Brown (bass) were joined by longtime friends Zakk Wylde on guitar (Ozzy Osbourne, Black Label Society) and Charlie Benante on drums (Anthrax). They kicked off their headliner tour in America, and from Spring they will be here in Europe.
The hype around this reunion is especially potent for the newer generation of fans who never got the chance to see Pantera with its original line-up. However, even for longtime fans, many of whom have openly expressed their support for the reunion, there’s nothing wrong in wanting to hear some of the greatest metal tunes in history performed once again.
