Santa Claus Express on the Children's Railway (Mikulásvonat a Gyermekvasúton)
On December 5–6, 2026, the Santa Claus Express runs on the Children's Railway in Budapest. Children can ride the festive train through the Buda Hills and meet Santa Claus along the scenic heritage line.
The Children's Railway (Gyermekvasút) in the Buda Hills hosts its traditional Santa Claus Express (Mikulásvonat) on December 5–6, 2026. This popular winter family tradition features decorated train cars traveling through picturesque forest landscapes. During the journey, children are greeted aboard by Santa Claus and his krampus helpers. The event offers a unique festive atmosphere for families and young visitors along one of Budapest's most famous narrow-gauge heritage railways.
