Hungary’s Newest and Most Innovative Festival Kicks Off the Festival Season

For decades, Sopron has been synonymous with the festival experience. The VOLT Festival, launched in 1993, was one of Hungary’s most popular and significant tourist attractions for many years. Now, the festival’s original founders, in collaboration with the city’s leadership, have decided to introduce a truly innovative “urban festival” to enrich Hungary’s festival scene.

There’s no place like Sopron!

In 2025, SopronFest will return for its third edition, bringing the best of music, culture, and gastronomy to the city. The festival’s unique atmosphere is shaped by Sopron’s vibrant charm and the magical surroundings of the Lővérek hills, all while maintaining a human-scale, sustainable event. The lineup features international stars and beloved Hungarian artists, ensuring that everyone finds something to enjoy. However, SopronFest is more than just a music festival—art, local flavors, and community experiences play a key role in shaping its identity.

During the festival’s main event days, the Lővérek hills will come alive with music, while Sopron’s historic downtown will host concerts, literary events, gastronomy programs, and exhibitions for over a week.
