The biggest blues festival in Hungary so far will feature world stars and the best-known artists of the Hungarian blues-roots community across the stages of Veszprém.
Body: Supported by the European Capital of Culture 2023 programme, the four-day festival will see the stages of Veszprém graced by performances from Sugar Blue – the harmonica player who made a platinum record with The Rolling Stones, Rick Estrin – the guitarist who reformed British blues tradition, Matt Schofield – a favourite of Hungarian audiences, as well as Big Daddy Wilson, and one of the most promising performers of the genre, Buffalo Nichols. Other local bands include Little G Weevil, The Black Circle Orchestra, Jambalaya, and Redbreast Wilson, with the promise of a long-awaited performance by the reunited Palermo Boogie Gang.
