World Touring Car Cup WTCR

The World Touring Car Cup first arrived at the Hungaroring in 2011, and it has continued to attract huge crowds year after year thanks to the spectacular side-by-side battles, as well as the Hungarian drivers in the series.

Eurosport always features the Hungaroring event in its season-end summary, and for good reason! The Hungarian round is known as having the best atmosphere and the biggest support from the stands. This is largely thanks to Norbert Michelisz who claimed the championship trophy in 2019, achieving the biggest international success of Hungarian motorsport. Several young Hungarian drivers have since started to follow in Michelisz’s footsteps, including Attila Tassi competing in a factory team, and the talented young drivers of Zengő Motorsport.

Last year it was a closed-door event, and Michelisz was extremely disappointed not to be able to start at Nr. 1 as defending champion in front of his home crowd, but he very much looks forward to racing in front of them again later this year.
