Millennium ParkBudapestGreater Budapest

Heavenly foods, iconic exhibitors, exciting performances – this is the Budapest Gourmet Festival, an unmissable programme for culinary enthusiasts every year.

If you enjoy the taste of fine foods, if you’re open to new culinary experiences, or if you’re just curious about the exciting developments in the world of high-end gastronomy, there can be no question about it: your place is there every year, at the Gourmet Festival in the Millennium Park in Budapest. Just one piece of advice we’d like to share: if at all possible, you should set aside several days for this, as you’ll find far too many delicious dishes to experience in just a few hours.

Several excellent reasons for us to recommend the Gourmet Festival

· It is to gastronomy what the Sziget Festival is to music. If you are at all interested in culinary delights, you owe it to yourself to visit.

· This is the most colourful and most comprehensive gastronomical festival in the entire country: essentially a line-up of all the best restaurants, wineries, pálinka producers, beer breweries, confectioneries and bars, all just waiting to have the public experience the delicacies they offer.

· With over 100 exhibitors, the Gourmet Festival provides a comprehensive view of Hungarian gastronomical culture, clearly demonstrating why it has become so well respected in the region.

· Dozens of genius chefs, including some of the most renowned experts in the country, all working their hardest to satisfy visitors.

The Gourmet Festival’s Mission

“To bring the forerunners of the gastro-revolution closer to consumers” – this, in short, is the goal of the Gourmet Festival. The organisers expand the number of exhibitors every year, as they want interested members of the public to get a comprehensive overview of the most well-known personalities in Hungarian gastronomy, not merely the top restaurants.

Until 2011, the ‘predecessor’ of the Gourmet Festival was known as the Buda Gourmet; in the years since, the festival has grown to become an incredible event featuring the best Hungarian chefs, restaurants, and culinary personalities. In addition to an up-close and personal view of Hungarian gastronomic culture, visitors will also find many well-known star chefs and representatives of high-ranking international restaurants in attendance, further enhancing the already colourful and varied palette of the festival.

Whom can you meet at the Gourmet Festival?

Simply put: tens of thousands of fans interested in high-end gastronomy – as well as many famous stars from the culinary world. Every participant has one thing in common: a passion for the very best in food and drinks. If you’re planning to join them for the next Festival, we can assure you that you’ve made the right choice.
