MUSEUM OF ETHNOGRAPHY
The Hungarian Museum of Ethnography recently reopened its doors in a striking new building that celebrates both cultural heritage and modern design. This architectural marvel offers immersive exhibitions that highlight Hungary’s rich folk traditions and the diverse histories of its people.
A unique feature of the museum is its stunning rooftop garden, which provides a serene green space with panoramic views of the city, blending nature with the vibrancy of urban life.
Among its current exhibitions, “Folk Art Masterpieces” showcases vibrant Hungarian

MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS
The Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest is Hungary’s largest art museum. It houses an extensive collection that spans from ancient Egyptian artifacts to European masterpieces. Located on Heroes’ Square (a UNESCO World Heritage site), the museum is surrounded by iconic architecture and lush greenery, making it a cultural centrepiece in Budapest’s City Park.
The museum is currently hosting “Kingdom of Gods and Demons. Mesopotamia 1000–500 BCE”, Hungary’s first exhibition dedicated to ancient Mesopotamia. This exhibition brings together over 150 artifacts from prominent European collections, offering unmatched insight into this long-lost culture.
On 27th November, the museum will also open “Munkácsy - Story of a Worldwide Sensation”. This large-scale exhibition commemorates the 180th anniversary of Mihály Munkácsy’s birth and the 125th anniversary of his death, featuring more than a hundred works of art, archival photographs, documents, and cult objects.
The Ceramic Space, which has 4,000 artifacts displayed along the stairs running through the building, is the museum’s free exhibition. The museum also hosts programs like Traditional Dance Workshops, where visitors can learn Hungarian folk dances, and Craft Days, on which guests are invited to try their hand at pottery and embroidery. Located opposite the Museum of Fine Arts, just across Heroes’ Square, the Ethnography Museum is a must-visit destination for everyone.
