Pécs region

The old town centrePécsPécs region

The south-western part of the country has everything you need for a great trip. The castle of Siklós, the wines of Villány, the spa in Harkány and Pécs await you with a myriad things to see and experience.

A walk in downtown Pécs

Pécs is a very popular destination, offering everything a tourist could want. Visitors can walk along cobblestone shopping streets, visit numerous listed heritage buildings and museums, and then just relax on the terraces of busy restaurants and cafés.

Discover the Zsolnay Cultural Quarter in Pécs

It can take an entire day to fully explore the Zsolnay Cultural Quarter.
In 2010, Pécs was awarded the title European Capital of Culture, and to this end the former factory of the famous Zsolnay family and the surrounding grounds were rebuilt, and now include an exciting experience centre.

The sunniest wine region in the country

The southernmost wine region of the country, where everything is about wine on every inch of the 2,100 hectares of land. No wonder: the fiery red wines of Villány and white nectars of Siklós are among the most famous Hungarian wines.

Wandering and caving in the Mecsek Hills

If you are also a nature lover, make sure you visit the forests, caves and lakes around Pécs. The Mecsek Hills, located north of Pécs, must have been created for the very purpose of hiking. This land of ancient and primeval beech and oak forests can be divided into two parts both from a geological and tourism point of view: the West Mecsek Hills of a thousand faces, and the East Mecsek Hills, famous for rural tourism.
